Accessibility and technical information
This website is designed to be usable by as many people as possible, on any device. This page describes what has been implemented and how to report a problem.
Our commitment
The website has been designed with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA in mind: readable text sizes, strong contrast, keyboard navigation, visible focus states and text alternatives for images.
No independent accessibility audit has been carried out on this website yet. This page describes what has been built into it rather than a certified level of conformance.
What is in place
- A skip link to go straight to the main content.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Text contrast checked against the WCAG AA thresholds, including text placed over images, which sits on a dark overlay.
- Descriptive alternative text for every meaningful photograph; decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields with real labels, error messages linked to their fields and a required consent checkbox.
- The hero slideshow can be paused, and stops moving automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.
- All animations are reduced or removed when your device requests reduced motion.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Touch targets sized for comfortable use on a phone.
Language
The website is available in English and French. Each page declares its language to assistive technology, and a language switch is available in the header of every page.
Technical information
- The website is responsive and works on modern desktop browsers, tablets and smartphones.
- It is served over HTTPS and uses no third-party tracking, fonts or embedded widgets.
- Images are served in modern, compressed formats and sized to their container.
- The website works without JavaScript for reading its content, and the contact form requires JavaScript.
